Successful Licence Validation for Agricultural Client New Farm Produce

October 23, 2019

Changes in regulations under the 'New Authorisations' meant that our clients needed to have their licence applications validated to secure their irrigation water.

New Farm Produce Ltd is located near Lichfield in Staffordshire and was founded in 1960 as a mixed farm of arable and livestock. Fruit growing was started by Ron McGuffie as a pick-your-own venture in the early 1970s. The business now encompasses a number of sites and grows strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, asparagus and cherries, which they supply to supermarkets and other local retailers.

The business has numerous boreholes supplying groundwater for trickle irrigation spread across their sites. Having been previously exempt from needing abstraction licences for trickle irrigation, under the ‘New Authorisations’ Regulations they needed to have licence applications validated.

Envireau Water helped them to achieve these validations and secure their irrigation water for the future which is critical to their business. New Farm Produce’s Owner Steve McGuffie on his experience of working with us:

“Thank you for all the work you have done to achieve a successful result for the validation of the abstraction from our boreholes. I can honestly say it has been a pleasure to work with you and your work is very professional. No doubt we will be in contact in the future when the licence is finally issued.”

We’ve helped numerous clients secure abstraction licences under the New Authorisations rules, allowing them to continue business uninterrupted. We are renowned for our success with securing licences for our clients. We benefit from strong relationships with the regulators, a good reputation and a wealth of experience. If you need to obtain or amend a licence, come to us – we achieve positive results where others fail.
