Our client, a food manufacturer required a new environmental permit to discharge wastewater, however they were met with a wall of technical questions when they approached the regulator. They called on Envireau Water for technical support.
The Challenge
Our client’s site, based in North Yorkshire, has no access to a mains sewer connection due to its rural location. To solve this issue, they planned to construct an on-site treatment plant to manage the wastewater from their operations. A previous application to the Environment Agency had been subjected to a range of technical questions they were unable to answer. It was then that they contacted us for guidance on the most effective solution and evidence for the Environment Agency. To add to the challenge, our client needed the permit to be approved quickly as operations were nearly underway at the factory, and wastewater would have to be transported off-site to be treated, an extremely costly temporary solution.
