A Recap of the River Restoration Conference 2023

Last week, Envireau Water were in Birmingham to attend the River Restoration Centre's (RRC) Annual Conference.
Bustling with professionals throughout the sector, the conference focussed the river restoration community on 'An action strategy for river restoration'.
Rebecca Thirkell and Michael Underwood, both Senior Hydrologists at Envireau Water, were delighted to contribute their industry experience and expertise to achieving the RRC's river restoration ambitions.
Michael commented.
"Rebecca and I prepared posters illustrating our work at Envireau Water for the restoration showcase. The posters show how far richer environments for biodiversity, and the prevention of catastrophic geomorphic change, can be achieved by early intervention, modelling, and considered design.
The conference was bursting with excellent examples of how the river restoration community has overcome challenges in urban and rural settings. The two-day event illustrated the increasing number of projects underway and how important nature-based solutions are to restoring watercourses."
