Ineson Lecture 2024

December 9, 2024

Last month, members of our technical team, Shona Symon, Jenny Harrison and Juan Rivera had the pleasure of attending and presenting at the annual Ineson Lecture at Burlington House, London.

Hosted by the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH-GB) and the Hydrogeology Group, the day saw the perfect opportunity to engage in discussions and talks from industry professionals surrounding the theme of groundwater extremes; addressing the causes, impacts and future societal policy required to help manage floods and droughts.

Reflecting on the event, Jenny commented:

'We were delighted to not only attend this year's Ineson lecture but to submit posters presenting our work so close to the conference theme. With the intensity and frequency of floods and droughts expecting to increase, our case studies on dewatering a groundwater ocean, learnings from a confined limestone aquifer test pumping exercise, and strategies for climate resilience helped to address the causes, impacts and water management issues related to groundwater extremes'

By addressing current practices and future opportunities surrounding groundwater management, the day was an invaluable opportunity for the team to share their knowledge with other delegates and professionals from across the industry, and is one of the many events our team have attended throughout the year.

Stay tuned to discover what else we get up to in 2025!
