Almost three months have passed since Eileen joined the team at Envireau Water to complete an internship as a hydrogeologist. Eileen recently graduated from Newcastle University after undertaking an MSc in Hydrogeology and Water Management.

Envireau Water’s Managing Director, Dr Phil Ham commented “It’s an absolute pleasure to have Eileen on board, she is already proving to be a great asset to the Envireau team and we wish to congratulate her on her continuing success.”

Since joining Envireau Water’s North Office, Eileen has been involved in a broad range of projects involving borehole feasibility studies, abstraction licensing, and borehole construction, management, and operation.

Here she shares her experience so far:

“I have enjoyed the opportunity to use the skills and knowledge gained in my master’s course in the work I am doing at Envireau Water. Through the projects I am involved in, I have learned that most hydrogeological solutions are not as straight forward as textbook scenarios! This has expanded and further developed my understanding of the hydrogeology and regulatory framework in the UK.

In addition to providing technical support to the team on a broad range of projects, I have enjoyed attending events such as the Borehole Users Conference, BSDA Industry Lunch, and the Urban Groundwater and 2019 Ineson Lecture. These events have provided the opportunity to get to know the team, as well as clients of Envireau Water.

Since taking a module in hydrogeology during my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, I knew I wanted to be a hydrogeologist! My time at Envireau Water has been an extremely rewarding experience.”

We pride ourselves in offering opportunities for people to learn, develop and gain experience in our area of expertise. Find out more about Envireau Team here.
