Attention! Extension to New Authorisations Deadline!

January 3, 2020

A 6 month extension to the New Authorisations Transitional Arrangements.

A Statutory Instrument was passed at the beginning of December and came into force on 1st January which gives a 6 month extension to the New Authorisations Transitional Arrangements. In effect anyone that has not already done so, now has until the end of June this year to submit their applications. The full Environment Agency announcement is available here.

This extension is extremely important, and Envireau Water encourages anyone that fits the criteria to act as soon as possible! Without a validated licence once the 30th of June passes you will be abstracting illegally. This is a helpful last-ditch opportunity from the Environment Agency for abstractors to apply based on the quantity of water they have required rather than the quantity simply available for licensing.

As explained in this infographic:

Envireau Water have submitted the most applications for a wide range of previously exempt abstractions and have unrivalled experience in the sector.

We will publish additional information to assist applicants in the next few days so stay posted! In the meantime, if you require our expertise or to discuss a project get in touch with James Dodds on 01332 871 871 or james@envireauwater.co.uk.
